Church Camp II-Brady

Brady left Monday morning for church camp. This year they went to Shocco Springs in Taladaga Alabama. He was so excited Sunday night that we liked to have never got him to go to sleep. I'm sure by Monday night he was wore out. There were 11 kids that went this year. This was the first year since Brady has been going that they divided the grades out like they did. Last year the 2nd-6th all went to the camp at Central Hills, the one that Rae went to last week.  This year the 2nd-4th went to Central Hills and the 5th and 6th went to Shocco Springs. Late Monday afternoon Phil got a text from his cousin Ginger wanting to know if Brady was at Schocco Springs. She was there with her church and her kids and nephews. Brady was in their family group!  How neat is that. He goes to church camp 2 1/2 hours away, the longest he has ever been away from us and his family group leader is this cousin. It's neat how God works things out. It seems that Brady and his cousins, Caleb, Jason and Jared had already found each other before Ginger saw Brady. She's been sending us texts keeping us updated on all that is going on. She says that the boys are having a blast together. He will be home tomorrow and I can't wait. He has never been gone this long before. I'm glad that he went but I'll be glad when he gets home!

Always start a trip with a prayer!

Loading up!

The whole gang except for Abram who's hiding in the back seat.

Fearless Leaders!! Awesome Leaders! Plus Sarah. She's in the back with the kids.

And away they go.

I'm so thankful for church leaders who give their time to help our kids learn more about themselves and God!

Kiss the Cook!

Phil is a wonderful cook, much better than me, and he loves to cook.  I find something on the internet that looks good and he cooks it. Pretty good deal huh? Of course most of the time I do the cleaning so I guess it might not be that good of a deal.

Chedder Bay Biscuits

Tilapia and Shrimp

Fettuccine and Sauce

I love my cook!

Walk with Christ

I saw this article on one of the blogs that I read. After reading it once I knew that it was something that I wanted to read again. I even want to add the 30 day challenge of reading Colossians 3:1-17 to my daily bible reading. I've attached the link to the article.

Am I living the life that Christ wants me to live? Are you?

Rae left this morning going to her first church camp. They went to Central Hills Baptist Retreat. She has kinda been back and forth about if she was actually gonna go or not. She has never spent two nights away from home before.  I told her several times that some of my funniest memories from when I was growing up was going to Camp Garaway in Clinton. We stayed a week at camp and I was always with some of my best friends from church. I told her about one year that I went, it was either my first or second year, that all I wanted that Friday when we came home was to see my mama. I had missed my mama so much that week.  When we finally got home that Friday do you think my mama was at home??? NO she was at the hospital having my brother! Back then (33 years ago) you stayed in the hospital for about a week and kids were not allowed in the rooms. After several days daddy finally snuck me up to the floor that mama was on and she came to the end of the hall to see me. That was one of the best hugs I had ever gotten.  I don't know that this story helped Rae any or not.

We got her all packed up and ready to go.

Ready to go!!!

Rae and her buddy Mary Kirk

The four buddies. They are all gonna be cabin mates this week

Brady being goofy!! He says that he doesn't miss his sister but I think that he does.

All loaded up and ready to go.
Phil texted our youth leader that is on the trip with the kids and she said all was going well.  She said that Rae was happy and having fun in riflery. That's all we need is for Rae to learn how to shoot a gun!  It makes me feel better that she is having a good time because she was a little upset when they were pulling out of the church. I could see her threw the window and she was wiping her face like she does when she gets upset and doesn't want anyone to know.

I made her a little blanket to take with her that is small enough that no one will see it unless she really wants them to. Every night before she goes to bed she and I sing "You are my Sunshine" to each other. A couple of weeks ago when she wasn't real sure if she was gonna go or not I decided to sew her this as a surprise.

I think she like it!

I know she is having a great time but I miss my little girl. I'm ready for Wednesday to get here!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we celebrated Father's Day. I was blessed 13 years ago to marry a man who would be a wonderful daddy. We surprised him this morning with a "candy" card. I saw this on the internet and thought it was such a cute idea.

Brady made him a #1 out of Legos to show him that he is the #1 daddy in our book.
Rae made him a card telling him how much she loves him and then we made him a card out of the kids hands that showed him how much we love him.

This is what the card looked like about 3.6 seconds after Phil read it and the kids got a hold of it.

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day!!!

Water Fun

Rae loves being outside but when she is outside and playing in the water then she is in heaven. She would do this all day every day if we would let her. Her true personality really comes out when she is doing things like this.

I get this look often.

Showing her muscles

More muscles

Love those cheeks

Haven fun

Bustin a move

More movin

Got her jazz hands going. I see a dancer in the future.

We have visitors in the cover of our gas tank.
